Rhythm of Rajasthan – Mir Ali Rajak
A musical evening with Mir Rajak Ali, a folk Sufi musician from Rajasthan. Organized by Chautal Events and Travel Nextdoor.
This gathering is an initiative of Project Across Southern Asia (PASA), a Kathmandu-based platform creating space for cross-cultural collaboration around shared traditions of food, faith, folklore, and festivals across Southern Asia.
Mir Rajak Ali and his group, from the desert town of Pugal, Rajasthan, carry a rare oral tradition shaped by Sufi devotion, Kabir and nirgun bhajans, qawwali, and other poetic lineages. His singing is unadorned, patient, and deeply human. His music holds silence, longing, and surrender.
He has performed across national and international platforms, including the Rajasthan Kabir Yatra, as well as regional folk and Sufi festivals, where he is known for his grounded presence and heartfelt voice.
Join us for an immersive acoustic evening where songs, stories, and oral traditions from Rajasthan meet Kathmandu.
