Shaswot Shrestha as Best Sound Designer

Recently, Saswot Shrestha, from Nepal, at a young age, won a prestigious award for the Best Sound Designer in the Babasaheb Dr. B. R. Ambedkar International Film Festival for a short movie, ” Katha Aafai Bolcha.”. 

Saswot Shrestha grew up in a musical family. His father is a sound recordist and mixer. 
He has had all the facilities and equipment, which made him think and learn more about producing music.
He started music production when he was in grade, and gradually, he started investing his whole time in improving his skills. 

In a conversation with us, he said, “For me, the composition of a song is very important in order to start the process. In terms of movies, knowing the story is important. Selection of sounds has always been tricky for me  so I use reference tracks while producing music.” 

Up to now, Saswot Shrestha has worked with lots of good Nepali musicians, and all of his works have been appreciated by everyone. 

About the award: 
Babasaheb The Dr. B. R. Ambedkar International Film Festival is an annual film festival held in honour of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, who is known as the father of the Indian Constitution and an advocate for the rights of the Dalit community in India. The festival aims to celebrate and showcase films that promote social justice, human rights, and equality, and to provide a platform for filmmakers to raise awareness and spark conversations around these issues.

The festival was first held in 2015 and is organised by the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Foundation, a government body established to promote and propagate the teachings and principles of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The festival features a range of films, including documentaries, feature films, and short films, from both India and around the world. The festival also includes panel discussions, Q&A sessions, and workshops with filmmakers and experts in the field of social justice and human rights.

His Message to Aspiring Musicians : 
For aspiring music producers,  trusting the process is very important . Listening to different genres of music helps to improve musical skills. 
“Fear is a motivator,” so if someone rejects your work , keep hustling. 
Nothing great comes easy , so keep producing music.
